[i18n] paragraph1
Cascading symbols is a gameplay mechanic in which game symbols fall from above the playing area, as opposed to the conventional motion of symbols spinning on reels.
Most games with cascading symbols feature symbol destruction and unlimited respins. These titles can often showcase larger playing areas where symbols falls from above, winning combinations are cleared from the playing area, and replacement symbols then fall to fill the gaps made by the cleared symbols. A respin then occurs and this process will repeat indefinitely as long as winning combinations are completed in the playing area. Not every Cascading Symbol game behaves in this manner, but this is the most common gameplay type associated with the cascading mechanic.
Examples of games with cascading symbols are Gonzo’s Quest and Jammin’ Jars. With 20 symbols on the reels at any one time, Gonzo’s Quest has more of a regular slot look, while Jammin’ Jars plays with 64 symbols on an 8x8 grid.
It is not uncommon for these game types to feature multipliers on top of the respins, or even additional bonus games.
