And just like that, 2020 is consigned to history. The year will be remembered for a variety of things - some more positive than others. For many, it’ll no doubt be considered a scourge on recent history, while others are sure to use it as a springboard to greater things.
For us here at Caxino, it will forever remain the year that saw us spread our wings and enter the online casino world. It’s been a tumultuous ride since we launched in June 2020, marked by some gargantuan scores at the slot reels as players headed over to Caxino to see what all the fuss was abut.
So, did the last month of the year go out with a bang, or quietly into the night ? A bit of both, really. Let’s see what happened during December in our final review of 2020.
Game | Game Provider | Amount | Date |
---|---|---|---|
Chaos Crew | Hacksaw Gaming | €27,705 | December 24 |
Joker Troupe | Push Gaming | €27,057 | December 20 |
Crystal Ball | Gamomat | €26,175 | December 12 |
Book of Dead | Play’n GO | €24,590 | December 05 |
Jammin’ Jars | Push Gaming | €23,504 | December 07 |
Ramses Book | Gamomat | €22,120 | December 01 |
Mystery Museum | Push Gaming | €21,202 | December 06 |
Reactoonz | Play’n GO | €20,565 | December 19 |
Book of Juno | Gamomat | €20,120 | December 07 |
Chaos Crew | Hacksaw Gaming | €12,380 | December 10 |
Unlike previous months, there was no runaway winner in December. In fact it was an extremely close run thing from start to finish, with just €15,000 separating all 10 places, and remarkably, less than €8,000 between 1st and 9th.
Taking top honours was a game that established itself as a firm favourite among slot enthusiasts last year - and in particular, high rollers on the hunt for that big score thanks to its potentially explosive Free Spins round.
Starring a pair of oddball furry friends known simply as Cranky and Sketchy, Chaos Crew grants 3 Free Spins for landing a trio of Scatters. Similar to Money Train, one life is lost for each spin that fails to produce an active symbol, but your spin tally is reset back to 3 whenever a special Cranky or Sketchy shows up, armed with one of four Modifiers. Catch a succession of lucrative Multiplier modifiers, and you could be looking at a substantial windfall similar to the €27,705 that claimed Gold in our December rankings.
Better known for their Scratch Card creations, its developer, Hacksaw Gaming, enjoyed something of a standout year in 2020, following up the title with equally curious offerings like Mystery Motel. It remains to be seen whether the relative newcomers can continue to flex their creative muscle and make up further ground on more established heavyweights of the slot world like Play’n GO and Microgaming over the coming year.
Chaos Crew, incidentally, also rounded off our standings last month - making December all that sweeter for another player courtesy of a €12,380 payout in the second week of the month.
A very familiar name jumps out at 8th on our Big Win table. Set in a parallel cosmic realm, make friends with one and two-eyed, space-dwelling aliens in Play’n GO crowd-pleaser Reactoonz. The 7x7 grid slot makes for some highly charged gameplay as you form clusters to fill up the FLUCTOMETER and QUANTUMETER on your way to wins worth a top 4,570x.
2020 saw sequel Reactooz 2 hit the shelves to a mixed reception. The original version, released back in 2017, remains as popular as ever - in one of those rare cases where the prequel continues to outperform its follow-up. Perhaps Play’n GO should never have tempered with a winning formula? Whatever - it is still one of the most played games here at Caxino, and delivered an otherworldly €20,565 Christmas gift to one player last month just in time for the big day.
Esteemed game providers Gamomat and Push Gaming are both represented by no fewer than three entries apiece on our rundown with a mixture of well-loved games.
The latter’s modern upgrade on some classic gaming, Joker Troupe, awarded €27,057 to narrowly miss out on Gold, with the developer’s flagship title, Jammin’ Jars, making its customary appearance at 5th with a €23,504 score.
Slightly further down at 7th, recent release Mystery Museum invites players on a tour through the developer’s museum rich in ancient artefacts to uncover secrets of the past. Doing so was enough to land one player €21,202 last month to sign off 2020 in style.
Notable mentions go to other slots steeped in antiquity like Gamomat’s fan favourite Ramses Book (€22,120) and not forgetting the perennial Book of Dead from powerhouse Play’n GO (€24,590) - known the slot world over for its famous Free Spins round complete with expanding symbols.
Now let’s cast eye eyes over the biggest Multiplier wins from December 2020.

Have we ever highlighted the sheer popularity of Jammin’ Jars with Caxino players? If not, then simply peak at the top 3 standings in our Multiplier chart for evidence. Showcasing its ability to throw up huge wins no matter your stake, Push Gaming’s masterpiece hogs all the Multiplier headlines from last month as it takes all three podium places - dishing up wins worth 19,879x, 16,659, and 14,824x, respectively, to put it clear of 4th place by some distance.

Fresh off the back of a 1st place in our Big Win table, Hacksaw Gaming’s quirky 2020 release brought back more chaos in the second set of rankings. Chaos Crew dished up a pair of wins equating to 9,235x and 8,800x, respectively in December - supporting our previous claims that attested to the game’s huge Multiplier potential.
Elsewhere, two Red Tiger Gaming-powered MegaWays slots also got in on the act last month - both excellent upgrades on established slot favourites. The loveable Gonzo was brought back by Red Tiger Gaming in 2020 for some MegaWays gameplay enhancements, and the adventurer got the ball rolling with a 7,146x win on December, followed by a payday worth 9,512x in another popular game that just about snuck into our rankings before time ran out on 2020.
Piggy Riches Megaways sees the developer’s filthy rich married pigs return for more balmy countryside frolics, in what is one of the most enjoyable releases from last year. On top of the MegaWays dynamic throwing up a max 117,649 win ways, features such as increasing Multipliers, all wrapped in a cute, opulent theme, ensure this offering remains a sure-fire hit with with slot fans everywhere.
Staying with Red Tiger Gaming, and a special mention goes out to another video slot from the developer, shrouded in mystery. Whipping up a 9,405x win on December 3 to claim 5th in our Multiplier standings, our destination is Central America in Yucatan’s Mystery, where we prepare to encounter fearsome tribes of Mayan and Toltec eras. The slot boasts rich artwork, a hallmark of many Red Tiger products, anchored by some suitably intense backing audio.
The key to landing big Multiplier Wins, like December’s beneficiary, lies in the game’s Free Spins round that brings 2x2 sized Super Mystery Coins into the equation, making for some hair-raising jungle action.
On reflection, December certainly didn’t disappoint, serving up a long line of healthy five-figure scores at the Caxino reels to bring the curtain down on 2020.
